3M Marine & Allied Services – Mangalore / WCIndia, is a proprietorship Marine Services firm of Cpt. Mohan Prabhu. The firm was conceived in 2003, registered with the local authorities in 2005 and had as its first assignment in (JV with another marine services firm) a 5 year O/M/M contract with New Mangalore Port of its 5000kl Tanker ballast/Oily water separation facility.

Cpt. Mohan Prabhu is a Mariner of 1974 vintage, having taken command in 1990 In 1997 - he ‘hung up his sea boots’ and began life ashore as a Harbour pilot at New Mangalore port.

He then worked as a Pilot at the ports of Tuticorin, Chennai, the private Finolex Port at Ranpar/Ratnagiri & last at the Karnataka Minor Port – Karwar. In total, he completed over 2200 full tonnage Pilotage moves, the largest of which was LOA 274m. Subsequently throwing caution to the winds, Cpt. Mohan Prabhu set-up his Marine Services Firm offering Services & Consultancy to clients in the Marine industry.

3M Marine & Allied Services is networked to other Mariners around the Indian coast, whose expertise & services are called upon when required. Work assignments awarded to the firm are carried out by Cpt. Mohan Prabhu personally or controlled by him from base. Cpt. Mohan Prabhu maintains the validity of his (Unlimited) Class 1(Deck) UK CoC
