    Port Engineers - Ship Repair/s.

The M/s Garware Shipping (Mumbai) owned LOA 75m OSV Garware-1 working in the Bombay High area – was contracted locally at Old Port Mangalore, for major repairs on account of her 20 year S/Survey requirements,. The work entailed about 50 tons of steel renewals - externals above the water-line & even below - some internals.

The work job-lists included a crop & renew of the - entire foc’sle plating (deck & hull strake/s), inside framing & other scantlings which also included the entire collision bulkhead. The work required complete removal from base of all steels / piping & electrical connections of the windlass and the two anchors with chain. They were then placed on the jetty – inspected by Class & renewed where required. The two Peak Tanks, Mud Tanks & DB tanks were also de-mucked, inspected internally & steel renewed where required.

Other decks where needed – were also cropped & renewed. Allied Structures such as Masts, Derricks, Davits, L/Raft cradles & any similar – were removed where required . All these then needed re-aligning as per the original specs before fitting back. Machineries serviced included Main & Aux. Engines, various Pumps, Motors & Winches.

We were appointed as Marine Consultants to the project - to liaise with the various W/Shops, Port Authorities, Statutory bodies including Class & a myriad of other interests.
The entire project took about 60 working days.
On completion of her repairs – to the satisfaction of her Owners & Class, the vessel sailed out from O/P Mangalore to re-take up her employment station at Bombay high.
